Welcome to Yashwantrao Chavan College of Science, Karad, where curiosity meets discovery and learning knows no bounds. It was founded in 1958 by the great leader from this place and the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Late Hon. Shri Yashwantrao Chavan with the vision of providing the best facilities for top quality science education to students of this rural area.
With a modest beginning the college has taken giant strides since then to keep up with its ideals and become one of the premier educational institutions in the Shivaji University jurisdiction today. Accredited with a B++ grade by NAAC in 2017, the special feature of this college is the studious and industrious ambience in the campus that has benefited innumerable students who have reached great heights in their careers after taking their education here. We are now undergoing the process of re-accreditation by NAAC.
We are offering 13 UG and 05 PG programmes, 02 Professional courses and 07 B.Voc. courses.Ph.D courses are also being offered in this college in Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Microbiology.
